Local Food Movement Membership Soars in 2015
With the support of more than 30 partner farms and producers in the Great Rochester area, The Good Food Collective looks forward to a successful and delicious 2015
(Rochester, NY) April 15, 2015: This spring, the local food organization, The Good Food Collective celebrates its 7th year providing the area with locally grown and mindfully-sourced food. In just a few years, The Good Food Collective has grown from their original core 100 members (2009) to an anticipated 1,700 members this summer season.
The Good Food Collective offers mindfully-grown local produce from area farmers, along with other food, including certified organic eggs, small-batch bread, direct and cooperative trade coffee, grass-fed meats, and more. Seasonal memberships are now available in the Rochester area for weekly community pick-up or workplace delivery. The most popular, go-to product is the Standard Summer Share, 14 weeks of 6-10 varieties of fresh, sustainable vegetables and fruit harvested from local partner farms. The summer season runs from June 22 to September 24.
Together with a collection of about 30 partner farmers and producers in the Greater Rochester area and Finger Lakes, The Good Food Collective is committed to making fresh, local, mindful food easy and accessible. With multiple distribution methods and pick-ups, The Good Food Collective makes it easier to eat and support local. Example locations include: The Jewish Community Center, Webster Public Library, Perinton Community Center, Midtown Athletic Club, The Harley School, Hart’s Local Grocers, The South Wedge Farmers’ Market, and URMC at Flaum Atrium. The Good Food Collective supports many workplace and community delivery locations such as RIT, Fleet Feet Sports, The Pieters Family Life Center, Rochester Central Library, and more.
