2013 Fall Share -- Week Five

We hope you have been enjoying your weekly local bounty as much as we have. Those incredible Brussels Sprouts not only made their way to your kitchens (Michelle made Brussels sprout lemon pizza in her kitchen), but were the model for a middle school art classroom this week! Who knew those little mini-cabbage lookalikes could inspire such creativity! Our members shared the goings-on with their local goods in their kitchens:   Tara made vegan cabbage rolls and a broccoli, garlic, pak choi honey-ginger assemble; Jennifer made baked pears; Emilia made miso soup; and -- my personal favorite -- Jayda's butternut squash carmelized shallot pizza delight. Feeling a little anxious that you might not use all those gorgeous apples in time and looking for something other than applesauce?  (Not that there is anything wrong with applesauce.) Member Jennifer Kellogg made apple pancakes with a bunch of hers! Giddy' up, Week Five!
