Hello Spring Members and Friends!
This is the first post of our new blog series: Forecast Friday. Past years, we've sent an email of what will be in a share in a given week, followed by another email with recipe ideas to complement those items, and lastly an email at the end of the week with the forecast of what will be in the following week's share. These emails were in response to member requests to shares recipe inspiration and also give folks an idea of what to expect the following week for weekend grocery shopping. Word on the street is that it's way too many emails. And we agree!
This year, the weekly share email and the recipe email have been rolled into one and the Forecast Friday will be posted to the blog. So, if you like to know, come to our blog page to check instead of your inboxes. And if not, you don't have to worry about that email sitting in your inbox or spam folder.
Here is what's being forecasted for next week:
Week 2: Spring Season
- Mixed potted herbs
- Spicy mix (bagged greens)
The tricky thing with sourcing locally is that things are not 100% certain. Many factors contribute to whether or not an item goes into a weekly share: weather, climate, labor, transportation, and more! Keep in mind that this blog post is exactly that: just a forecast. Although, we will try our darndest, with the incredible efforts of our partner farmers, to make sure you see these items in your share next week!
Enjoy your weekend!
